Work Experience
I’ve worked at several companies in several fields over the last decade. The main thing these companies have in common is that they all execute some form of logistics.

I’ve started working at Nu Skin directly after my studies. I’ve worked there for a year and had a great time. The reason I left was that I wanted to learn faster and from people with more experience than myself. Due to this reason I choose to find a job with some ‘logistic professionals’ which core business it is to do logistics.

For the aforementioned reason I searched specifically for a 3PL organisation and I found CEVA Logistics. Here I started working at their Nokia Care site in Oss which handled all spare parts for Nokia. I only stayed for 6 months since an exciting oppertunity presented itself to work for a more dynamic customer: Microsoft. I started working here from basically the start of the project to setup a 40.000m2 warehouse within 3 months incl a new WMS (Project Tulip). This was a very hectic time and my privat life had to take a backseat for several months, however coming out at the end and looking back, it was all worth it. After the startup period I stayed on for another 3 years doing interesting projects and having worked with many interesting and very skilled people. However I decided that it was time for a change, away from warehousing into something new.

That was when I found Inalfa Roof Systems, an tier 1 supplier for the automotive industry, an area I had no experience in. The work was relatively slow paced at first but after 2 months the ‘crazyness’ started. The project I was working on for Audi & Porsche were going through some rough times and a lot of hours and teamwork was required to get everything back on track. Altough I learned a lot during this time I decided that the more operationally focus of the job wasn’t my cup of thea and that I wanted to work more on setting up and improving processes rather than keeping them running. So I decided to go back to the thing I knew best; warehousing, but with a twist.

Where my job at CEVA was mainly B2B I wanted to focus more on B2C hence I ended up at one of the biggest online pharmacies in Germany; Shop Apotheke. I signed on for a project to start a new warehouse (40.000m2) and implement a new WMS. However, after working there for a few weeks I quickly realised there was a lot to gain with a fundamentally other way of working. We managed to do business for another 2 years in the current warehouse trippling our day to day output. However, after that the time came to start working on the new warehouse which has been realised just around the corner together with SSI as our automation partner. The ‘new’ WMS was also implemented but not as initially thought, we removed all WMS related logic from the ERP en build a new WMS based on that. After ~2 years of planning, building and moving all goods the warehouse was up and running, a great achievement. The last 2 years I’ve worked on further optimizing the processes and became even more data focussed as before supporting all departments with their analysis. After 6 years I decided that I wanted a change…

So a new exciting chapter of my life begins, to start my own company. The reasons behind it are quite simple, I would like to experience more different things faster after one another. With an interim job this is easier and less strainfull on the company. Also this will bring me some more flexibility regarding my personal life and spending time with my 2 childeren.
